New terror laws in Qld
AAP
Queensland's government will introduce new laws to give police greater powers to deal with terrorism and public emergencies.
The new laws, designed to bring Queensland in line with other states, will make it illegal to refuse to provide information sought by police or giving false or misleading information and extend powers to search and seize vehicles as they leave or enter declared areas.
"The shocking events of Paris last year and Brussels just last month highlight the very serious risks to public safety and the dangers ordinary people face from acts of terrorism," Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said on Tuesday.
