Meth, cannabis, guns netted in drug raids

More than 100 people have been charged over drug trafficking in southeast Queensland.

Police raids have uncovered a large quantity of methylamphetamine, cannabis, cash, firearms and stolen property during a 15-month operation targeting the trafficking of methylamphetamine in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Hervey Bay.

More than half a kilogram of methylamphetamine and 15 kilograms of cannabis have been seized in raids across Hervey Bay.

A total of 108 people have been charged with 260 drug related offences, including five Hervey Bay residents charged over the trafficking of methamphetamine.

It comes after police and the dog squad raided homes across the coastal city on Wednesday.

The four men and one woman will face court on charges including producing a dangerous drug, supplying a dangerous drug, possessing property used in the commission of a crime, possession of firearms and a number of break and enter offences.

Many more people in Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Gympie have been charged with a variety of drug and property offences and will face local magistrates court in coming days.
