Man charged over punch attack on Qld boy

A man has been charged over a one-punch attack on a 16-year-old boy in Cairns.

The teenager lost consciousness and fell to the ground when he struck in the jaw from behind after trying to break up a fight between two men in Trinity Beach on Sunday, police say.

He was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

A 19-year-old man will face court later this month on a charge of grievous bodily harm.
