Illegal resident had '$400k drug stash'

A 31-year-old man is facing possible deportation after police allegedly found $400,000 worth of cannabis in a car during an intercept south of Brisbane.

Police say 45kg of dried cannabis and $5100 in cash was found when they pulled over the car at Underwood after seeing the driver using his mobile phone. He did not have a valid visa and has been referred to the Australian Border Force.

He will also face the Richlands Magistrates Court on Thursday, charged with one count each of possessing a dangerous drug and possessing property acquired for committing a drug offence.
