Brother of murder accused charged over Father's Day shooting

A man charged over a Father's Day killing north of Brisbane told police his brother fired the fatal shot, a court has heard.

Clinton Pollock, 35, was fatally shot in the chest after getting into an argument with a group of men in the front yard of his Deception Bay home about 11.30pm on September 2.

Zachary John Hall, 28, and Justin Meale, 26, are both in custody charged with Mr Pollock's murder.

Meale's brother, 30-year-old Joshua Meale, was also arrested at a Kippa-Ring home yesterday and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

He faced Brisbane Magistrates Court today where he applied for bail.

Defence lawyer Nick Hanly told the court his client had co-operated extensively with police, telling them his brother was the one who shot Mr Pollock over a drug dispute.

He also told police he was a passenger in the car when his brother went to retrieve the gun after dumping it in a drain.

The court heard Meale told police he did not know his brother was carrying a sawn-off shotgun when they drove to confront Mr Pollock.

He was granted bail on strict conditions, including that he have no contact with witnesses.

He will appear again in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on November 6.

His brother, Hall and 25-year-old Christian Sands, who has been charged with accessory after the fact after allegedly driving the vehicle from the scene, will also reappear on that date.
