Police investigate after man dies from falling in sand hole
Queensland Police are investigating after a man died from falling into a sand hole on a beach in a freak accident.
Josh Taylor's life support was switched off yesterday after he fell into the hole on Bribie Island in Brisbane's north on Saturday afternoon.
The 23-year-old fell into a 1.5-metre hole that had been dug to roast a pig and became "trapped in the sand".

"He was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries this afternoon, December 7," Queensland Police said in a statement.
Police are investigating the circumstances in the lead-up to the incident.
Officers believe there were many people on the beach and they were yet to speak with police.

They are appealing for any dashcam footage of the northern end of the island from that afternoon.
Yesterday his family confirmed his death in an emotional statement, calling him the "best son, brother, boyfriend and mate we could all have wished for".
The family thanks all those who helped, including staff at the hospital.
"Their expertise and compassion made the hardest five days of our life just a little more easier," they said.
"We will somehow find a way to move on from this terrible tragedy."
