A neighbour told 9News he tried to put out the fire from the inside before emergency crews arrived.

A 34-year-old woman and former reality TV star was arrested at the scene.

She was refused bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court via a bedside hearing yesterday.

She remains in hospital today under a mental health order, and will be fronting court again in December.

The woman and the deceased man can not be identified due to a court-ordered secrecy order.

Police believe the pair were known to each other.

South Australia Police Assistant Commissioner Ian Parrott said there was no ongoing threat to the community.

"This is not a random incident and we are confident that this is limited to a relationship between the person who has been charged and the person who is deceased," Parrott said.

Major crime police and forensics teams have spent the day at the home.

"There are a range of things at the scene that need to be worked through," Parrott said.
