UPDATE: Woman charged after alleged kidnapping

A woman has been charged after the alleged kidnapping of another woman.

The woman was arrested from a home at Whalan today while police seized a bullet cartridge, bike and clothing.

Police allege a man and woman went to a house on Madang Street yesterday morning and threatened two people with a gun.

The pair allegedly demanded money from the 28-year-old woman and 34-year-old man before firing a shot into the television.

It's alleged they then kidnapped the woman and stole her car before releasing her unharmed.

This afternoon police arrested a 26-year-old woman at a home on Goroka Street and charged her with kidnapping and firearm offences.

She was refused bail and will appear at Mt Druitt Local Court tomorrow.

Detectives are attempting to locate the man involved.
