Woman, 67, charged in NSW knife attack
A 67-year-old Sydney woman has been charged with allegedly threatening a man with a knife before chasing him, attacking his car and scratching a police officer during her arrest.
The woman threatened a 50-year-old man with a knife at home in Cartwright in the city's southwest on Tuesday afternoon, before slashing the tyres of his car, chasing him and attacking his vehicle again, police said.
The woman refused to put down the knife after several requests from police and had to be forced to the ground by the arresting officer who was scratched during the arrest.
She's been charged with several offences including assaulting an officer in execution of duty and armed with intent to commit indictable offence, and is due to appear at Liverpool Local Court in February.
