Unidentified body found beside train tracks in Byron Bay

A body has been found near train tracks in Byron Bay, NSW, this afternoon.

The unidentified remains were discovered about 1.30pm today, behind Jonson Street.

Police have established a crime scene and have advised that the cause of death is unknown.

Jonson Street runs parallel to the train line, near the Byron Bay railway station and Byron Community Primary School.

Investigations are ongoing and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
