Two charged after alleged Sydney stand-off

A man and woman have been charged after an alleged hours-long stand-off with police following reports of gunfire in Sydney's southwest.

Police say they attended a Greenacre home at about 2.45pm on Friday after reports of shots being fired, with the riot squad and specialist officers helping to establish a perimeter.

After an alleged stand-off that lasted almost six hours, a 37-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station for questioning.

Police allege they seized numerous items at the home, including a vehicle and two motorcycles which are believed to have been stolen, cash, mobile phones and credit cards.

The pair were ultimately issued with court attendance notices for unrelated charges of intimidation and supplying a prohibited drug.

They've been released pending further inquiries into the incident.
