A third boy has been charged with arson after a group allegedly lit a fire last weekend in the state's central west.

The 11-year-old was one of five youths seen at an industrial area in Orange when the blaze broke out on Saturday, damaging several businesses during a total fire ban and catastrophic fire danger conditions.

The boy will appear in a children's court on April 3 after being charged on Friday with destroying or damaging property, setting fire to property and destroying property in company using fire.

Two other boys aged 12 and 13 were earlier this week charged in relation to the Orange blaze while two others aged 11 and 14 were spoken to by investigators but released without charge.
