THE LINDT CAFE SIEGE: WHAT WE'VE LEARNED:
* In the hours before police stormed the Lindt Cafe, senior officers twice rejected a proposal from the Tactical Operations Unit to end the siege and opted to for a strategy of "contain and negotiate".
* Hostage Katrina Dawson had a pulse when she was discovered inside the Lindt Cafe at about 2.16am, but was unresponsive as efforts to revive her continued until 3.12am.

* Two officers from the Tactical Response Unit - known as officer A and officer B - fired off 22 rounds between them as they entered the cafe. Officer A fired 17 times.
* Tori Johnson was told by Man Haron Monis that "everything will be fine" moments before he executed the cafe manager.
