Sydney woman, child, threatened with knife

A man who allegedly demanded cash from a woman at knifepoint as she sat in her car with her toddler is due to face a Sydney court.

Police allege the man climbed into the woman's car, produced a knife and demanded cash after she had strapped her 18-month-old child into the back seat at Fairfield on Tuesday evening.

A 26-year-old man was arrested late on Wednesday night and charged with several offences, and was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Thursday.
