Several properties damaged after pipe burst off Sydney Harbour
Updated . First published
Several properties have been damaged after a pipe burst on Sydney's North Shore, leaving thousands more residents without water and murky water seeping into the harbour.
Sydney Water is repairing a burst main that ruptured the footpath and parts of Grasmere Road in Cremorne near Primrose Park this morning.
Almost 19,200 residents reported receiving little to no water across Cremorne, Neutral Bay and Mosman.

Tap water was also coming out brown.
The burst main caused flooding in the area, which appeared to have led to the bottom of Primrose Park and seeped into the Sydney Harbour.
Sydney Water confirmed several properties were damaged in the incident.

The organisation is working with affected residents and has since restored water supply to the 19,200 properties.
"Crews have now isolated the main and restored pressure and supply to affected customers," a Sydney Water spokesperson said.
"If customers live in a unit block or similar with a private booster pump, their plumber may need to reset the system to restore supply to the building.

"Sydney Water apologises for the inconvenience and appreciates the community's patience while repairs continue."
Grasmere Road and Young Street remain partially closed as work to repair the main continues.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
