A father accused of killing his wife before escaping his burning house in Sydney's west will remain in custody for at least two more months.

Abdul Khaliq Barati, 43, did not apply for bail on Wednesday over charges of killing his wife, Adelah Barati, in the early hours of Tuesday morning at his Guildford home, which he escaped as it burnt.

The father of two was formally refused bail and will remain behind bars until he faces Campbelltown Local Court on December 14.
