Sydney man assaulted then arrested

After going to police over being hit in the leg with a tyre iron by a woman intruder, a west Sydney man has been arrested over an outstanding breach of bail.

The man was at a home in Cabramatta on Wednesday when two women he knew broke in, armed with various objects including a tyre iron and making demands about a missing car.

The 21-year-old was struck in the leg with the tyre iron by one of the women before running away and calling police.

After speaking with police, it was established the man was wanted for a prior breach of bail.

He was arrested and refused bail, and will appear in Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.

Police seized a car in the nearby suburb of Campbelltown.
