An incident at a property in the NSW Southern Highlands involving NRL star Sam Burgess is being investigated by police.

The South Sydney captain recently split with wife of almost four years Phoebe, according to media reports, whose family is believed to have a property in Bowral.

An AVO application involving Burgess is due to come before Moss Vale Local Court on November 6.
