Snorkeller dies on NSW South Coast

A man in his 40s has died after experiencing difficulties snorkelling on the NSW South Coast this afternoon.

Police said the man was snorkelling with two people when he got into trouble and was assisted onto a boat off Congo about 10.30am.

CPR was commenced as the boat travelled towards Moruya, where it was met by paramedics at Preddy's Wharf at Moruya Heads.

The man died at the scene.

The news follows the death of a scuba diver in Melbourne today and the death of a 60-year-old Englishman during a Queensland diving trip on Friday.

Two French tourists died while snorkelling north of Cairns on Wednesday.
