Shots fired into shop in Blue Mountains

A man is in police custody after shots were fired into a shop in the NSW Blue Mountains.

The 34-year-old was arrested near the scene of the shooting in Leura early on Thursday, while a loaded handgun was found nearby, police say.

Officers also seized a rifle and ammunition from a station wagon believed to have been used by the man, which was found in the car park of a nearby hotel.

The business was empty at the time of the shooting and no one was injured.
