Pedestrian killed on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula

A young woman has died after being struck by a car while walking along a road with friends after attending a wedding on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.

Police say the 22-year-old was walking along Browns Road at Boneo when she was hit by the car at about 11.45pm on Saturday.

The driver of the car, a 61-year-old man, was uninjured and is assisting police with their inquiries.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
