Pedestrian dies after being hit by 2 cars

A 43-year-old man has died after being struck by two vehicles in Lake Macquarie on Christmas Eve.

The man died in hospital on Christmas Day after being hit by two vehicles on the M1, near the Freemans Drive on-ramp, about 8.30pm on Thursday.

Both drivers have undergone mandatory blood and urine testing, and police have spoken to witnesses.

Police say the 43-year-old's death is the sixth since Operation Arrive Alive was launched for the festive season.
