Huge haul of drugs, grenades found in raid next to Sydney daycare
Police have raided an organised crime bunker next door to a daycare in Sydney’s south-west, uncovering a stash of guns and military-grade hand grenades.
The haul was found on Tuesday in a raid on a home in Glenfield, with six grenades, three semi-automatic rifles and four shotguns being among the weapons found in the house.

The grenades were buried in rice.
“We often see large amounts of drugs, but this type of weaponry is very concerning to us,” Assistant Commissioner Scott Cook said.
Police also found more than 1000 rounds of ammunition and more than 24 kilograms of illicit drugs.
This included 15 kilograms of cannabis, 6 kilograms of cocaine and 1.1 kilograms of heroin.
The drugs have an estimated value of $3 million, while police also found $9000 in cash at the home.

Police arrested a woman and Onnell Esho, both 26, before seizing four shotguns and three semi-automatic rifles.
Esho was hit with 27 charges, including drugs and weapons offences.
He was refused bail to face Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday.
The woman was charged with organising, conducting and assisting drug premises, and was granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on August 27.
Police believe the townhouse was being used by several contract criminals, some of whom may have been working for the Coconut Cartel, a gang detectives maintain has now been effectively crippled.
Cook said the gang was “all but out of action”.
Taskforce Falcon officers also arrested two men at Liverpool and Casula on Tuesday after discovering an illicit steroid laboratory complete with a pill press, knives, and $20,000 in counterfeit cash.
