One Nation has removed a blog post on its official website comparing its policies to those of US President Donald Trump.

The move comes after the Republican Party was decimated in the US midterm elections on Wednesday, with Trump’s unpopularity a primary factor in the landslide.

The blog post was titled “Want Trump’s action and style, then it’s One Nation you need”, and was first published on January 23, 2025, just days after the US president’s second term began.

At the top of the article was a graphic with party leader Pauline Hanson next to Trump.

“Australians politics may differ from the United States landscape, but when it comes to bold policy initiatives that prioritise national sovereignty, economic growth, and cultural integrity, the actions of current US President Donald Trump echo strongly with the principles and policies of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation,” the post read.

“As the Presidency rolls on, the stark similarities between Trump’s administration of the world’s wealthiest nation and the policies One Nation seek’s to implement will become apparent.”

However, eagle-eyed readers have noticed the blog post has been taken down, and replaced with a 404 error message.

One Nation has been contacted for comment.

“Sorry! It looks like that page is missing when it was needed most,” the error page reads, alongside a cartoon depiction of former Prime Minister Scott Morrison wearing a Hawaiian shirt on a beach.

“Maybe ScoMo broke the internet (again), or maybe the page you were looking for was just not found on our amazing new website,” the page continues, directing users to its homepage and One Nation’s controversial Please Explain cartoon series.

The link to the blog post now leads users to a 404 error page, with a not-so-subtle dig at Scott Morrison. One Nation

The original blog post can still be read via online archives, which scraped the page as recently as August 6, although some social media users have said the page was accessible yesterday.

The original post went on to highlight how One Nation’s positions on certain issues echo Trump’s own stances.

This includes immigration, referencing Trump’s mass deportations and southern border policy.

“One Nation has consistently advocated for stronger border security, including strict immigration policies that prioritise Australian safety and prosperity,” the post said.

“We oppose open-border policies and insist on rigorous vetting processes for asylum seekers and immigrants to protect Australians from potential security risks.”

The post concluded by calling on people who align with Trump’s values to support One Nation rather than the Liberal Party.

“If you admire the decisive actions and nationalist priorities of Donald Trump, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation is the only party in Australia that mirrors these values,” it said.

“The Liberal Party, with its track record of pandering to globalist elites and avoiding controversial yet necessary reforms, fails to uphold the principles of Trump's presidency.”

Trump suffered a major rebuke in the midterms, as his Republican Party lost control of the House and Senate, as well as the governorship of several states.

Some states elected Democratic senators or governors for the first time in generations, including Texas and Kansas, and several of Trump’s handpicked candidates were soundly defeated.

Many politicians and commentators have pinned the blame for the defeat on Trump, while Vice-President JD Vance said the unpopular war in Iran – which has led to high gas prices and inflation – was the reason for the result.
