Olympian pleads guilty to meth manufacture

Olympian and world champion kayaker Nathan Baggaley has pleaded guilty to manufacturing methamphetamine.

The Athens Olympics dual silver medallist on Wednesday faced nine charges relating to the manufacture, importation and supply of large amounts of drugs.

But after he pleaded guilty to two charges of manufacturing and conspiring to manufacture drugs the other offences were withdrawn at Sydney's Central Local Court.

Baggaley, who's on bail, will be committed for sentence on March 13.

His bail was continued by Magistrate Megan Greenwood.

As part of Baggaley's bail, a $150,000 surety was posted.

He was ordered to report to Tweed Heads police daily, stay at a Casuarina home between 9pm and 6am and not contact his brother, witnesses or other co-accused.

Baggaley must also surrender his passport and avoid airports.

Baggaley's younger brother Dru pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting and conspiracy to manufacture drugs during a brief appearance at the same court.
