NSW teen faces court over elderly assault

A teenager will face court on Friday charged with assaulting an elderly woman in her western Sydney home.
The 18-year-old is alleged to have assaulted the 78-year-old at her Toongabbie home sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
Alarmed staff at a Seven Hills bank alerted police after the woman turned up at the branch with serious facial injuries on Wednesday afternoon. She was later taken to Westmead Hospital.

Police arrested the teenager at his Toongabbie home on Thursday morning.
He was charged with breaking and entering, wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and committing a special aggravated indictable offence.
