Teen girl fighting for life after being attacked by friend's dog identified
A 17-year-old girl remains in a critical condition in hospital after being mauled by her friend's dog.
Annalyse Blyton's mother has pleaded for her daughter to keep fighting, a day after the horror attack at a home in Singleton, north-west of Newcastle.
"Fight baby girl, don't let this defeat you," Annalyse's mother Lauren said.

She said the "trauma this is going to leave behind" was "unbearable".
Emergency services were called to Annalyse's friend's home on Broughton Street about 11.30am yesterday.
It's understood the teenager had been studying for exams and was about to leave when she attempted to pet the dog, which then mauled her.
Passersby jumped in to get the dog off Annalyse and provided first aid until emergency services arrived.

"It was an incredible act given the circumstances," he said.
"They rendered what potentially could be life-saving treatment."
Annalyse suffered critical head, neck and body injuries and was flown to John Hunter Hospital.
Police and council rangers were at the scene to euthanise the dog, with consent from the owner, who has been assisting police in the investigation.

The 10-year old dog was a mixed breed of a boxer, bull Arab and Irish wolfhound.
Investigations are continuing, and no charges have been laid.
