NSW serial arson suspect in custody

A man is behind bars after being charged over lighting three fires in NSW bushland.
The 22-year-old was arrested near a fire in the Blue Mountains Scheyville National Park last Friday and charged with causing the fire and being reckless to its spreading.
He was refused bail at Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday after police laid further fire-related charges.

Police allege he deliberately lit fires at Simmos Beach Reserve and Georges River Nature Reserve in Macquarie Fields on October 2.
He's set to face Blacktown Local Court on March 9 and further charges were expected to be laid, police said on Thursday.
