NSW's triple A rating maintained

NSW's balance sheet has improved under the coalition, according to a ratings agency report.

Standard and Poor's have upgraded the state's outlook from negative to stable and reaffirmed its triple-A credit rating on Wednesday.

Spending cuts and the long-term lease of some port operations have contributed to NSW's improved rating, the report says.

The state's outlook improved due to a lower risk of large debt being used to fund NSW's infrastructure needs.

"It shows we are making the right decisions to prioritise and deliver for the people of NSW," Premier Mike Baird said in response to the report.
