NSW man to appear in court over murder

A man will appear in a south-western Sydney court over the murder of a woman he knew.

The 44-year-old was arrested on Monday, a day after the woman's body was found at the Bankstown home.

Police found the man hiding under a neighbour's balcony before he was taken into custody and charged with murder, witnesses say.

"He was under there for half an hour before the police turned up," a neighbour told the Seven Network.

He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday.
