NSW man in possible whipper snipper attack

A man is in hospital after apparently being attacked with a whipper snipper during a home invasion in country NSW.
Police say the 47-year-old was found on the floor of his Wellington home, southeast of Dubbo, around 8.15am on Friday after reports a man was seen running from the property carrying the hedge trimming tool.
The injured man was unresponsive when paramedics arrived and had a deep laceration to his head.

He remains in a critical but stable condition at Orange Base Hospital.
