An elderly man is fighting for life in a Sydney hospital after being struck by a ute while crossing a residential road.
The man, aged in his 80s, was hit on a street at Port Kembla, in Wollongong, on Saturday evening and was being airlifted to St George hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say the 20-year-old ute driver wasn't hurt and has been taken for mandatory blood and urine testing.
