Men rob Syd pub with hatchets and machetes

Three masked men armed with hatchets and machetes have robbed a south Sydney pub after threatening a staff member and a patron.

The trio stormed into the Earlwood Hotel just after midnight and forced a staff member to open the safe before fleeing with cash in a waiting car driven by a fourth man, police said.

Police later found the getaway car on fire in Marrickville but haven't located the men.
