A NSW man has been charged with a raft of firearm offences after he allegedly fired a rifle during a domestic violence incident.

The 21-year-old had been arguing with a 27-year-old woman on Friday morning at Singleton in the Hunter region when the row became a physical fight.

He went to his car, which was parked nearby, and allegedly returned with a rifle which he pointed at the woman. The rifle allegedly discharged when the woman pushed the barrel away. No one was hurt.

On Saturday afternoon, police arrested the man at Singleton Heights and during the search of a property, an amount of steroids, a replica pistol, ammunition and a firearm part were found.

A 25-year-old woman was also arrested at the scene on outstanding warrants.

The man and the woman were refused bail to appear at Muswellbrook Local Court on Sunday.
