A 34-year-old man has been glassed in the face at a fast food restaurant in Sydney's east.

Police say officers were called to the restaurant on Anzac Parade in Maroubra at about 10.15pm on Friday on reports of men fighting.

A 34-year-old man with lacerations to his face was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being taken to Prince of Wales Hospital.

Police said initial investigations suggested an argument broke out between the man and two teenage boys, before one of the teenagers threw a number of glasses at the man.

Both teenagers, believed to be about 17 years old, ran from the scene.
