Man found bound on Sydney street after suspected kidnapping

A man has been dumped in a Sydney street with his hands bound and head covered after what appears to be an attempted kidnapping.

Police were called to Dean Street in Strathfield South shortly after 12:30am where they located the man lying face down on the side of the road.

He was being assisted by a passing motorist and local residents, 9News understands.

Paramedics arrived a short time later and treated the man for minor injuries before he was placed into an ambulance and transported to Concord Hospital.

It is understood the victim is not co-operating with police or hospital staff. 

A crime scene was established and a vehicle nearby the victim was towed as part of the ongoing investigation.
