Man fined over Blue Mountains blaze

A NSW man has been fined $1100 after sparking a Blue Mountains bush blaze during a total fire ban.
The 24-year-old was among a group of friends who used fire during a photo shoot at Wentworth Falls just after midnight on Wednesday, sparking a bushfire when sparks flew off their prop.
"Carelessness often leads to incidents which can seriously affect public safety, and we urge everyone to be careful in order to ensure that avoidable incidents are prevented," Detective Inspector Dietmar Almer said.
