Man dies at Newcastle workplace

Police will prepare a report for the coroner after a man died in a possible workplace accident near Newcastle yesterday.

Just after 6.30pm, police responded to reports of a man injured at a workplace on Turton Road, Waratah – about 6km north-west of Newcastle.

On arrival, they found a 41-year-old man being treated by paramedics, however, he was unable to be revived and died a short time later.

A crime scene was established and police commenced investigating the incident.

Following initial inquiries, police are not treating the incident as suspicious.

The incident will be investigated by WorkCover.
