Man dies after being stabbed in Sydney

A man has died and a woman has been arrested after a stabbing in Sydney's west.

The victim was stabbed at a home on Meroo Street in Blacktown just before 5.30pm on Wednesday, police say.

Officers performed CPR on the man, aged in his 40s, but he died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

A 50-year-old woman known to him was arrested at another home on the same street and has been taken to Blacktown Police Station.
