Man charged over NSW stabbing

A man has been charged over the stabbing of another man and attempted stabbing of a woman in a car in regional NSW.

The 30-year-old was arrested on Friday and charged with wounding with intent in Tamworth over the stabbing near Calala on June 8.

Police allege the man was travelling in a four-wheel drive with the pair and pulled out a knife, stabbing a 33-year-old man and trying to stab the woman before running away.

The victim received treatment in hospital for non-life threatening injuries, while the accused was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Saturday.
