Man charged after ‘offensive behaviour’ on infamous Bondi bridge
A man has been charged after he allegedly hung a flag and made “offensive hand gestures” on the bridge at the centre of the Bondi terror attack.
The 53-year-old was charged on Friday after complaints were made about his actions on the pedestrian bridge at about 3pm that day.

Police were told he allegedly hung a flag from it before making offensive hand gestures.
While authorities did not confirm what the gestures were he was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with behaving in an offensive manner in public.
He was refused bail and will front court on Saturday.
It is not the first time a person has been accused of offensive behaviour on the bridge where father-and-son Naveed and Sajid Akram stood as they allegedly killed 15 people attending a Hanukkah event.
Zayne Jason William McMillan, 23, was jailed for 12 months with a non-parole period of nine months for mimicking the shooting, as well as launching a tirade of verbal abuse.

In April, another 23-year-old was arrested following a probe into two people allegedly acting in an offensive manner on the footbridge.
He was charged with behaving in an offensive manner in a public place, and stalking and intimidating with the intent to cause fear or physical harm.
The fate of the infamous footbridge remains up in the air with debates surrounding whether it should remain standing as a reminder of the terrorist attack or be torn down.
NSW Premier Chris Minns said earlier this year he would hate for the bridge to become a “ghoulish reminder” of what occurred, or worse, “exploited by reprehensible people in the future”.
