Man charged after NSW high-speed car chase

A Queensland man has been charged with more than a dozen offences after he led police on a high-speed car chase clocking 210km/h on the NSW mid-north coast.

Police said the dangerous speed forced them to stop pursuing the 42-year-old man on the Pacific Highway near Taree on Monday.

He allegedly ditched the stolen car at an exit ramp and took another one from a nearby property, filling it with petrol stolen from a Karuah service station.

The man was arrested at the Twelve Mile Creek rest area and charged with 15 offences including breaking and entering and driving in a dangerous manner.

He has been refused bail and is expected to face Maitland Local Court on Tuesday.
