Man set to front court after alleged hit-and-run in Sydney's Inner West

A man is set to front court following an alleged hit-and-run in Sydney's Inner West last year that left a 67-year-old woman hospitalised.
Emergency crews were called to Norton Street in Leichhardt at about 9.50am on October 25 last year following reports of a crash.
When they arrived, a 67-year-old female who was sitting out front of the cafe had allegedly been pinned against a wall by a BMW sedan before it sped off.

The woman was treated at the scene before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital to undergo surgery for injuries to her leg and hip.
Police began a search of the area shortly after and found the sedan on Elswick Street and an unresponsive 34-year-old male driver inside.
He was arrested and taken to hospital shortly after, where he was released shortly after as investigations continued.

Following months of inquiries, the 35-year-old was arrested at Auburn Police Station yesterday before being charged with a string of offences in relation to the October incident.
He was charged with seven offences, including driving under the influence of illicit drugs and aggravated driving causing grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and will face court today.
