Man busted with 'cocaine' in wine bottles

An Australian man has allegedly tried to smuggle wine bottles filled with more than three kilograms of cocaine on a flight from Peru to Sydney.

The 33-year-old was arrested by federal police on Monday after border officials discovered the drugs, which have an estimated street value of $1.2 million, in his suitcase.

He has been charged with importing a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug and will face a Sydney Central Local Court on Tuesday.
