Man badly wounded in Sydney assault

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was found with head and face injuries at a western Sydney unit complex.

Police were called to the Wentworth Point complex just before 8.30pm on Wednesday after reports a man had been shot. The 53-year-old was found with blunt force injuries to his head.

Investigations suggest he was assaulted on a nearby road, and police have set up two crime scenes.
