One dead, three injured in NSW shooting

A man has been killed and a police officer has been wounded after a gunman opened fire in a suburban area on the NSW Central Coast.

NSW police were on Tuesday night forced to lock down Cutler Drive in Wyong after reports of multiple gunshots being fired.

Negotiators and the tactical response unit were called in after a 40-year-old man allegedly opened fire.

A 20-year-old man was killed during the incident.

A 45-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man sustained minor injuries, while a police officer was wounded in the back while trying to help the 20-year-old.

Police found the 20-year-old's body in a house on nearby Maple Street.

The alleged shooter was arrested by police about 7.30pm and has been taken to Wyong Police Station.
