Man, 71, pulled from Hawkesbury River dies

A 71-year-old man has died after being found unconscious in water in Sydney's Hawkesbury region after trying to pull his boat in.

Four paramedic units responded to the incident at Cottage Point on Wednesday morning and performed CPR on the patient who was pulled from the water in a critical condition.

"Despite the efforts of emergency services at the scene the man was not able to be revived," NSW Police said in a statement.

"Initial inquiries suggest the man was trying to pull his boat from the water".

There were no suspicious circumstances, police said.
