Legal community remember siege victims

More than 100 people have gathered with grieving members of the Sydney legal community for a church service to remember those affected by the fatal Martin Place siege.

Barrister Katrina Dawson and Lindt cafe manager Tori Johnson died in the 16-hour siege and on Friday afternoon many of Ms Dawson's legal colleagues solemnly entered St James' Church to pay their respects.

Ms Dawson's lawyer brother, Sandy, attended the service.

As well as dealing with the loss of Ms Dawson, members of the legal community have also been threatened for helping siege gunman Man Haron Monis to be released on bail when he launched the attack.

NSW Law Society president Ros Everett said she was disturbed by the reports and urged the wider community to remain united.

"The floral tributes at Martin Place reflect the depth of sympathy and solidarity in the community in the aftermath of the disturbing events that took place on our doorstep," she said.
