A jury has retired to consider its verdict at the trial of two brothers accused of murdering a man whose smouldering body was found in a burnt suitcase in a Sydney reserve.

Azam Charbaji, 26, and Haysem Charbaji, 24 pleaded not guilty in the NSW Supreme Court to the July 2014 murder of 20-year-old Dane McNeill, while Lexy May Jamieson, 26, has denied being an accessory after the fact.

The crown has alleged Mr McNeill was force-fed Xanax tablets, stabbed, bashed and kept in a laundry overnight, before being attacked again and burned in the suitcase found at Picnic Point.
