The findings of an inquest into the death of a 21-year-old Chinese student who jumped from a burning fifth-floor Sydney apartment, will be handed down today.

Connie Zhang jumped to her death from the Bankstown unit block on September 6, 2012, after a ferocious fire ripped through the building, blocking her exit.

The inquest at the NSW Coroner's Court has been seeking to determine the cause of the fire and to assess the response of fire and rescue crews and whether or not the apartment met safety standards at the time of the blaze.

The building's strata manager conceded the complex had safety defects during the inquest, in June.
